Well, it finally happened. It surprised Holly, but it did not surprise me as to which one had the first broken bone. Jamie has long been the climber, but she has been climbing a lot lately. Today, she was playing on one of the forts at the daycare playground and fell about 3 or 4 feet. Long story short, she has what is called a buckle fracture of the left radius and ulna, very near her wrist. She is quick to correct us when we say she has a broken arm, and says she broke her wrist. I guess that is where the pain is, but it is actually her arm very near the end of the bone at the wrist.
The good news is that she didn't suffer any other injuries apparently, and the arm will not require surgery or casting. She will wear the pictured brace for 2 weeks. She guards it carefully, but it has not stopped her from climbing all over the place today. She pinched her other hand in a door, fell and hurt an ankle, and has had other injuries today. Jessie was also getting tired and fussy during the supper prayer, and bumped her head very hard on the table during the prayer. I guess it wasn't supposed to be funny, but I guess it was because of its timing.
Anyway, we have all survived another day, but barely.
